Afterclose: Night Delivery monster and boss guide
Threats in Afterclose: Night Delivery come in five tiers: regular threats, Champion packs (blue names, from Day 6), Unique mobs (gold names, from Day 10), eight named Mythic mobs (orange names, from Day 14) and four Bosses. The tougher the tier, the more of the shift quota it pays and the more gear rolls it drops. Bosses, Mythic mobs, several regular threats and the modifiers draw a warning shape on the floor before they strike.
In short
- Name colours: Champion blue, Unique gold, Mythic orange.
- Quota share per kill: Champion 1%, Unique 6%, Boss 10%, Mythic 15%.
- Mythic mobs appear in 4% of shifts without a Boss from Day 14, about 18 seconds into the shift.
- Bosses arrive on Day 4, Day 8 and Day 12, then every 5th shift of Endless Overtime. You must defeat the Boss to clock out.
- Bounty Board: from best Day 12, one Mythic target a day pays 50 Enhance Stones and a Rune.
How do the monster tiers compare?
Regular threats give a small fixed score per kill. Champion, Unique, Mythic and Boss kills add a share of that shift's quota on top, and each tier drops gear. Unique and Mythic mobs drop from a special table that can include Unique and Set items.
| Tier | First appears | How often | Quota share per kill | Gear drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Champion | Day 6 | Some shifts: 30% on Day 6, rising to 70% on Day 25 | 1% | 1 roll per monster, with a ×3 drop chance |
| Unique | Day 10 | Some shifts: 25% on Day 10, rising to 60% on Day 30 | 6% | 3 guaranteed, from a table that can include Uniques and Sets |
| Mythic | Day 14 | 4% of shifts without a Boss | 15% | 5 guaranteed, same table, plus a guaranteed Rune |
| Boss | Day 4 | Days 4, 8 and 12, then every 5th shift of Endless Overtime | 10% | 3 guaranteed, plus a guaranteed Rune |
Which regular threats are there?
The three basic threats (Basket, Toy Car and Toaster) are there from the first Days. New ones join as you go further, each with a pattern you can learn. The new ones announce their name and a one-line hint the first time they appear.
| Threat | First appears | How to deal with it |
|---|---|---|
| Basket | Day 1 | A walking shopping basket that follows you straight at a steady pace |
| Toy Car | Day 1 | Sprints in short bursts, then almost stops: dodge while it pauses |
| Toaster | Day 3 | Slow, then a sudden fast charge after a long wind-up |
| Mannequin | Day 2 | Freezes if you look · Creeps up if you turn |
| Thief Raccoon | Day 5 | Steals your cargo · Bump it to get it back |
| Vending Turret | Day 6 | Red line = can shot · Step aside |
| Runaway Cart | Day 7 | Red line? Sidestep · Hitting a wall weakens it |
| Firework Balloon | Day 9 | Pops when the red ring fills · Pop it near the swarm |
| Pigeon Flock | Day 10 | Weak but swoops in fast · One scan finishes it |
| Cleaning Bot | Day 11 | Puddles make you slip · Its body is tough |
| Shopping Bag | Day 12 | Red-ringed bags make you drop cargo |
| Inflatable Doll | Day 14 | Wind pushes you back · It won't hurt |
- Thief Raccoon: when it steals cargo, catch it within 3 seconds, before it reaches the exit, or the cargo is gone. Catching it returns your cargo and adds one bonus golden cargo.
- Runaway Cart: a red line shows for 0.8 seconds, then it charges in a straight line. If it hits a wall it is stunned for 1.5 seconds and takes extra damage, which is your moment to strike.
- Firework Balloon: it lights its fuse when you come close and pops 0.9 seconds later, hurting nearby threats too, so lead it into the swarm.
From Day 12 a swarm of 20 or more Shopping Bags pours out of a store door once per shift (twice from Day 20; on Boss shifts only the first one), with a warning first.
What are Champion packs?
From Day 6 some shifts bring a Champion pack: 3 monsters of the same type with blue names that share one modifier. The chance per shift rises from 30% on Day 6 to 70% on Day 25, and from Day 18 a second pack can appear. Each Champion pays 1% of the quota, and their drop chance is ×3.
What are Unique mobs, and what do the modifiers do?
From Day 10 a shift can bring one Unique: a gold-named leader with a random name such as Expired Toaster 'Receipt Devourer', 2 to 4 followers and 1 to 3 modifiers (1 at first, 2 from Day 15, 3 from Day 25). The chance per shift rises from 25% on Day 10 to 60% on Day 30. Only the leader pays quota share and drops the special gear; the followers are ordinary threats.
| Modifier | What it does |
|---|---|
| Flash Sale Sprint | Moves 35% faster |
| Plastic Wrap | Wrapped in tougher plastic, so it takes more hits to defeat |
| Splitter | Splits into 2 fast mini-threats when defeated |
| Magnet Jam | While it is near, your pickup range shrinks to 55% |
| Overheat | Explodes where it falls, after a 0.8-second warning ring |
| Frozen | Touching it leaves you slowed on the ice for a moment |
| Static | Fires a line of current at you (0.9-second warning) |
| Battery Drain | While you are near it, your Dash recharges at only 50% speed |
| Tag Barrage | Fires a fan of 3 price-tag shots (0.85-second warning) |
| Blink Display | Teleports next to you after a 0.7-second warning marker |
| Stock Hoarder | Eats cargo lying on the floor to heal |
| Manager Aura | Other monsters near it move 25% faster |
A Champion pack shares one of these modifiers, and a Unique mob carries up to three.
Which Mythic mobs exist?
From Day 14, a shift without a Boss has a 4% chance to bring one of 8 named Mythic mobs with orange names. It appears about 18 seconds into the shift, far from Pico, and its attacks always show a warning shape first. Defeating one pays 15% of the quota, drops 5 pieces of gear and always drops a Rune. The first time you defeat each Mythic, it also drops a guaranteed Legendary.
| Mythic | First appears | Hint |
|---|---|---|
| Mold King | Day 14 | A mountain of expired bread · Dodge the spore clouds |
| Freezer Queen | Day 14 | Ice cream freezer · Sidestep the fan-shaped frost |
| Receipt Wraith | Day 16 | Endless receipt · Teleports after each whip strike |
| Price Tag Gunslinger | Day 18 | Label-gun outlaw · Slip between the three price tags |
| Red Label Cashier | Day 20 | Closing-sale register · Dodge the cross-shaped scan beams |
| Mannequin Marshal | Day 22 | Freezes when you look at it · Summons mannequin minions |
| Runaway Cart King | Day 24 | Giant cart · Charges three times to the end of the red line |
| Doll King | Day 26 | King of the toy aisle · Ground slams and doll swarms |
How do you beat each Boss?
Bosses appear on Day 4, Day 8 and Day 12. In Endless Overtime (from Day 13) every 5th shift has one: Day 17, Day 22, Day 27, Day 32 and so on, cycling through all four Bosses. You cannot clock out while a Boss is alive. A Boss pays 10% of the quota, drops 3 pieces of gear and always drops a Rune.
| Boss | First appears | How to beat it |
|---|---|---|
| Inspector | Day 4 | Stay close and your auto-scan hits it |
| Forklift Foreman | Day 8 | Sidestep the red warning line so it slams the wall, then strike |
| Blackout Technician | Day 12 | Chase it down before the blackout. Use Flash on summoned threats |
| Closing Guard Robot | Day 32 | Step aside when the yellow searchlight fan fills up |
How does the Bounty Board work?
Once your best Day reaches 12, the Bounty Board posts one Mythic mob as the target of the day (it prefers Mythics you have not defeated yet). The target joins the first shift of Day 12 or later in your first run of the day that reaches it, far from Pico, even if it would not normally appear that early. It is only used up once it actually appears, so a run that ends earlier does not waste it. Defeating it pays a Bounty Reward of 50 Enhance Stones and a Rune, once per day.
If the target appears and you do not defeat it in that run, it is gone until tomorrow. Before you start a run you can watch an ad to swap the target, up to 2 times per day.
What is the Secret Doll Warehouse?
From Day 8 a cracked door sometimes (2% of shifts) appears on a store wall. Dash through it, and after the shift the Secret Doll Warehouse opens: a 30-second bonus shift with no quota, where you defeat dolls for Runes. Clearing it pays 2 Runes and 60 Enhance Stones. The Doll King can also drop a key to it (35% chance).
FAQ
What is the difference between Champion, Unique and Mythic mobs?
Champions are packs of 3 with blue names from Day 6. Unique mobs are single gold-named leaders with followers and up to 3 modifiers from Day 10. Mythic mobs are 8 named monsters with fixed attacks and orange names from Day 14. Higher tiers pay more quota and drop more gear.
When do Mythic mobs appear?
From Day 14, each shift without a Boss has a 4% chance of one Mythic mob, about 18 seconds in. The daily Bounty Board target is a guaranteed Mythic: it appears in the first shift of Day 12 or later that day.
How does the Bounty Board work?
After your best Day reaches 12, one Mythic is posted as the daily target. Defeat it when it appears (in the first shift of Day 12 or later that day) for 50 Enhance Stones and a Rune. If it appears and you do not defeat it, it is gone until tomorrow. You can swap the target up to 2 times per day by watching an ad.
How do you beat the Bosses?
Each Boss has its own pattern. Stay close to the Inspector so your Scan hits it, sidestep the Forklift Foreman's red line so it slams into the wall, chase the Blackout Technician before the blackout and Flash its summoned threats, and step aside when the Closing Guard Robot's searchlight fan fills up.
